A Christian School in Florida issues statement threatening to expel students that practice homosexuality

A Christian school in Florida is facing backlash in the media after telling parents that they’re going to kick out students that participate in gay or transgender lifestyles.

“It is true that a student can not come to our school and be transgender or homosexual. This is rooted in Scriptures,” says Grace Christian School administrator Barry Keen. “God has spoken on those issues, explicitly, aggressively, and we have had these policies in our school since day number one in the early 1970s. This is not new. […] We believe that God created mankind in His image: male (man) and female (woman), sexually different but with equal dignity.”

This is impressive for several reasons.

Grace Christian School knows that taking a stance like this means they’ll lose potential money from enrollment, but also the school isn’t taking a weak stance to this. They could have easily chosen to not make any statement, or even say that the school embraces “tolerance and diversity” (which is a very fashionable euphemism).

Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made (Romans 1:20 RSV)

Keen responded to the backlash in a Facebook video stating that the school is standing their ground.

Yep, their mascot is a 1770’s era Minuteman!
