BOCC will be appointing a new Kootenai County Prosecutor
The Kootenai County Prosecutor, Barry McHugh, submitted his resignation 2 months ago. This Wednesday at 1:00pm, the Kootenai Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will be interviewing three nominees submitted by the local Republican central committee. BOCC is planning to appoint a nominee at the end of the meeting (see the meeting agenda below).
The three nominees are ranked below by KOOTENAI RGMT:
1. Stanley Mortensen
2. Bryant Bushling
3. Donald Gary
Both Mortensen and Bushling are great candidates, however, Mortensen seems like he has really great ideas for keeping citizens more informed about the County Prosecutor’s office via ramping up the office’s social media presence. Mortensen believes this is one of the things that are currently lacking. He stated in the recent KCRCC meeting that “nobody knows what the County Prosecutor is doing.” Mortensen is also a former Kootenai Sheriff’s Deputy, and currently works in the Prosecutor’s office as deputy prosecutor.
The agenda for the meeting is below. You can print it out as a handy guide to keep you tracking with the meeting.
