Palmetto State Armory presents a bunch of cool concept guns

Updated 9:10pm PT: Just learned PSA is actually allowing the public to view the poll results live here. At the end of the original article, I made a prediction about which concept guns would win, and I was right on the money (promise I didn't know the results were publicly viewable at the time!). That forum post also contains a good deal of detail on each of the concept guns.

Most gun people know PSA for making really affordable AR-15s. In recent years, they seem to be re-inventing their brand to become recognized for innovation with their original gun designs, like the JAKL and Dagger. These PSA originals are compelling because they aren't 1:1 facsimiles of existing guns, but cherrypick the best ideas floating around in the modern firearms design space.

PSA seems to be doubling down on this strategy because yesterday they announced a slew of "concept guns" they have been developing. In order to help them decide which guns they should bring to market, they're asking the public to vote for their top 3 guns.

Here's the lineup of the concept guns:

  1. PSA X5.7 (HK MP7 clone)
  2. 308 JAKL (FN Scar-L clone)
  3. Vuk (AKV-521 5.45mm clone)
  4. 22 Dagger (Dagger chambered in .22 LR)
  5. Thumper (37mm grenade launcher)
  6. Emerge Bolt Gun (sold as complete serialized firearm, or separately as parts; chambered in .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor; modeled after the time-honored Remington 700)
  7. 9mm JAKL (direct blowback action– not long piston; takes CZ Scorpion mags)
  8. 570 Pump Shotgun (likely inspired from the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870)
  9. Full Size Dagger L (Glock 17 Gen 3 clone)
  10. Sabre Enhanced M4 (it's a really tricked out AR-15)
  11. 10mm Dagger Carry
  12. Olcan (Tavor/L85 bullpup)
  13. 45 Tactical Dagger

I think people generally gravitate towards unobtainium clones so my prediction is the MP7, Scar-L, AKV-521 clones will win the contest (in that order).
